Together, we cultivate curiosity, confidence and ambition so every child can flourish at school and far beyond.

At Acre Schools Federation, our commitment is expressed as five promises that reflect our pledge to our children, our school communities and the world around us. These are:

We celebrate the rich diversity of our communities, fostering a culture of equity, openness and inclusivity. We unlock opportunities by working in partnership with families. We embrace differences and create communities where we can learn from each other and grow together.

We champion a culture of excellence across all our schools and beyond. By freely exchanging ideas, collaborating on best practice and sharing resources, we provide an ambitious curriculum and varied enrichment opportunities that are strengthened through partnership.

We are committed to sustainability, climate justice and future-proofing our planet for the next generation. We guide our children to become kind, considerate, world-ready citizens who care for their community and the planet.

OUR STORY
Acre Schools Federation is currently made up of Clapham Manor Primary School and
Sudbourne Primary School, both community schools located in the London Borough of Lambeth. The road between these two founding schools, Acre Lane, provided the inspiration for the Federation’s name.
The schools first began working together in a soft federation in 2022, sharing a commitment to continuous improvement, an aspiration to innovate and a belief in evidence-led best practice. Working in partnership brought significant benefits to the children in both schools: an improved curriculum offer, dedicated specialist staff, new inter-school sports competitions, enhanced training and collaboration opportunities for staff, and substantial financial efficiencies to ensure sustainability and security for the future.

In 2024, we formalised our partnership by launching our hard federation. But our story doesn’t end here. We are committed to the ongoing evolution of our offer, continuing to improve children’s education through a culture of progress that benefits our schools and the wider community.

GOALS

•  Continuing to innovate in both curriculum and enrichment to develop happy, healthy, confident, active, curious children who can reach their full potential through best-in-class teaching and care. Remaining open and nimble to seize opportunities and respond to need.
• Employing excellent staff who are well supported, well trained and encouraged to develop, both in their individual schools and across the federation. Creating centres of excellence for trainees and early career teachers to ensure a strong pipeline of talent and to share best practice in all our schools to promote first-class teaching and behaviour.
• Maximising the financial benefits that come from working in partnership to continue to make improvements to our school environments and provision.
• Optimising marketing and promotion opportunities to keep our numbers on roll as close to capacity as possible.
•  Forging strong partnerships with the communities we serve to ensure our schools are the schools of choice in their local areas.
• Looking beyond our individual schools for training, development and collaboration opportunities in the wider education community. Reaching out to partners with openness and curiosity, in order to keep improving our offer to our own pupils.

STRUCTURE
Acre Schools Federation is a hard federation governed by a single, shared governing board responsible for the strategic oversight of all member schools. While we are united by our shared vision and promises, each school within the federation retains its own identity, character and autonomy. This includes individual responsibility for curriculum design, school uniforms, budgets and day-to-day leadership. Our structure is designed to protect what makes each school unique, while enabling deep collaboration, shared expertise and collective strength across the federation. This balance ensures that every school can thrive – together and on its own terms.
